The trouble with solution focused practice is via it makes too much sense. First we establish the client's preferred future and then look how far they have moved towards it and how they managed that. This simplicity allows conversations to focus on small steps to further the journey. I guess the simplicity really challenges the need for delving into complex theories and expertise led models which do lead to similar outcomes however may take a little longer. Once the idea that 'there's got to be more to it than that' has been overcome then the focus can be on the conversations and not swirling around theories in the mind.
